****Please bear with me, I am having some blog issues that I hope to have resolved today — this should just be affecting how my site looks, but please let me know if you are having any problems!****
As I mentioned, I had a rough week this last week. But, I am not letting that stop me!
I ate badly more than half this week. And my cravings centered around 3 things: cheese, nuts, and chocolate! All three things I was not eating, and I definetely was restricting myself too much. I think part of the reason for my food issues is that my calories were not enough to fuel the exercise I was doing, and I was hungry all the time! I should know better … it isn’t like I have never tried to lose weight before! So, I have started incorporating those 3 foods specifically, so I am not feeling so deprived.
I also wasn’t taking my vitamins this week, and I wasn’t drinking kombucha! I really wasn’t feeling well cause I love my kombucha! I also have ceased counting calories for now – I think that put me in a way too restrictive mode – I was overanalyzing every thing I was eating, and under fueling myself. Maybe at some point I will be stronger and I can start counting calories again, but I feel good with the decision to stop for now.
Last week is now behind me. My weight was a little up this morning, but this week I am moving forward!
Here are some scenes from what I did this weekend to relax, count my blessings, and enjoy life:
Homemade kombucha, in the glass I got from my 5K race! I started fermenting my kombucha a few days longer, and I like it so much better! This was also the first time I used green tea, instead of black tea, and all I can say is LOVE!
PS Anyone want a kombucha scoby? My kombucha’s babies are having babies, and I have so many right now! Email me if you do! (queen@thehealthybeehive.com)
Transplanting my baby plants with my homemade potting soil!
With my real live baby! He loves the sun!
I think they are looking good!
This was the end of a strawberry shake: fresh strawberries, ice, water and little almond milk. Delicious!
My handsome husband!
And finally a toast to a better week ahead. Cheers!

Glad things are better! I also have trouble figuring out the calorie/intense exercise balance. And I’m still working on doing what my body needs rather than following what soneone else says to do. So thanks for sharing your experience with this.
Thank you! You are definitely right – there is no one fit for everyone! It seems like a constant balancing act!
You sound a lot chipper, Jane. Had trouble reading the previous post but whatever was the problem has seemed to work itself out with blogger.

Thanks Jane .. I am feeling better, my weekend was definitely relaxing and what I needed! I think I am going to be updating my site all week, hopefully I can get all the kinks worked out!
Sometimes I think this rigorous workout routine coupled with just the right foods can be a trick. My friend is training for a 5K and finally consulted a nutritionist. Your husband is a camera man? Does he work for a station or is he independent? I have two friends that do that. Scott Milinkov and Rick ____, shoot, can’t think of his last name right own. Anyway, sometimes it’s a small world.

It sure can be tricky … I’m trying to do what I feel is best for my body this week, and not focusing so much on the food, so we will see. Yes, hubby works for channel 4 — CBS. He is always doing something interesting! I’ll have to ask him about those names! It sure is a small world!
Hang in there! Glad youre finding what does and doesnt work for you. Strawberry smoothie sounds yummy
Thanks! I love strawberries!
So glad you are feeling better. I always want what I won’t let myself have!
ahhh thank you!
Dear Jane, first I hope you feel better really soon. Please, do. Now, I love your new look (the blog’s new look). Great job! Kombucha is the best drink ever, I love it and make it at home too. When I saw the picture of your husband I felt a bit fuzzy inside: TV was my profession for so many years and I start to realize that I miss that job!

ah really? He does love his job, and he is always doing something exciting! I’m glad you like the blogs new look! I loved the old look, but it was giving me some problems. I hope you have a great Monday!
I tried to comment yesterday but it wouldn’t go through. I was so glad to read that your week ended on a brighter note. I really love your approach to coping with your feelings. Very healthy!
One of these days I must try kombucha. I keep reading such great things about it.
I had a busy, somewhat aggravating week last week myself so I raise my glass in a toast to a better week ahead. Cheers!!
Sorry about that! Someone else told me they were having problems too, but I made some changes and hopefully it is resolved now! Let me know if you have any other problems .. It’s a little frustrating because I don’t know what was causing the problem .. I just made some tweaks and it seemed to have worked! I love my kombucha!! I can hook you up if you ever decide to try it
And I forgot to say, I hope you have a better week too!!!
Glad your week is going better. I find I get that way if I restrict a food too much. Or sometimes, I am okay with a food and have it in my meal plans, but then I will binge on it for some reason (nuts are a good example of that). Then I have to remove that food for a while. It’s weird.
