I L.O.V.E onions. All kinds of onions! Green onions, white, yellow, red, pearl onions!
When I saw Lynne at The Actors Diet posted on making caramelized onions in the crock pot, I knew I had to try it! I love caramelized onions, it just takes so long on the stove!
This is super easy and delicious!
Caramelized Onions in the Crock Pot
Slightly adapted from Lynne at The Actors Diet

Serves 4-6, depending on how many onions you want!
4 onions, peeled and sliced
nonstick spray
Spray the inside of your crockpot with nonstick spray.
Take 4 large onions, and peel and slice them.
Yes, it will look like a lot of onions!
Cook on high 5-6 hours. Stir occasionally – I stirred when I thought of it – maybe once every 1 1/2 hours or so.
Reduce heat to low and cook 1-2 hours. I tilted the lid to let some of the moisture escape.
I decided to serve the onions on top of a pork chop.
I think onions get so sweet when you cook them. Yum!

Yeah, at least I’m not the only onion lover! I used to eat onion sandwiches for breakfast with the sweet Vidalia onions … mmmm!!!
That reminds me of an onion salad my mother makes, very tasty. Did you see my pasta? I was thinking of you when I added cheese to it…:)

When I was younger, I hated onions, and I could not understand why or how anyone could like them and actually eat them on purpose!
Now…I’m the opposite…I love them, any way I can think of preparing them!
