June Foodie Penpals

Foodie Penpal

This month for the Foodie Penpal program, I was paired up with Nicole from Life After Swimming.

The Foodie Penpal program is run by Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean.

Here’s a detailed explanation of the program:

-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!

-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you can choose to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

- Foodie Penpals is open to US, Canadian residents & UK residents.

Here is what Nicole sent me!

foodie penpal

Cranberry Walnut snack mix which was AWESOME!  It was black pepper flavored cranberry walnut trail mix, and was so good!  I took it to work for a snack.  Yum!  Also some roasted edamame with goji fruit – interesting combo, but it was really good!

Raspberry agave!!  This stuff is seriously amazing!  A coconut bar, and some fruit snacks.

And some festive plates and napkins!  I haven’t used them yet, but I am sure I will sometime this summer!

And a chocolate bar!  Cause a package wouldn’t be complete without SOME sort of chocolate

Thank you so much, Nicole!  I really loved everything!

If you would like to be part of the foodie penpal program, click here and fill out the sign up form.

I’m still kind of going back and forth if I want to join for another month or not.  But, it really is a ton of fun, and you get to met other people that you might not have otherwise!

If you would like to see what I sent my penpal, click here to visit Farrah’s blog!  And after her review of what I sent her, I think I need to join next month!

Happy Saturday!

  3. I want to be a pen pal with you Jane! We have a lot in common (taste), and I want to try some of your cheeses. Each time I go to the store to buy a cheese I think of those colorful wheels you made. I’ve been doing a lot of soft cheeses, but haven’t started on hard one yet. Come see my cookies, they are not gluten free though, but I am proud I made it (as you know, I don’t bake that often). I will try to make gluten free next time! :)

    • I know, it is so fun to get it in the mail. Something fun and not a bill! lol! BTW I made your roasted garlic and garlic infused olive oil this weekend … I think that is going to be a permanent fixture in my fridge from now one, I don’t think I am going to be able to live without it! So delicious! :)
