Lemon Dill Salmon Burgers

The first time I went to Alaska – about 1 1/2 years ago – my future sister in law made the BEST salmon burgers I had ever had.  Of course, it was with Alaska salmon!  I asked her about them, and she said there really wasn’t anything special about them.  So, I never did find out what was in them!  All I remember is that she prepared them in the food processor.  And to this day, I can’t remember anything else about them!

I know these salmon burgers aren’t as good as hers, but I think they are pretty good!  I decided to combine two of my favorite flavors – lemon and dill!

Lemon Dill Salmon Burgers

Print this recipe!

Makes 4 burgers

1 lb salmon, or 1 can 14 oz can Alaskan salmon, drained

1 stalk celery, chopped

2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped

1 lemon, juice and zest

1 tbsp dijon mustard

1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper

Preheat a medium skillet over medium heat.

Mix all ingredients together.  Form into 4 patties.

Or, in my case, 4 patties and 1 mini patty for taste testing purposes!

Cook 3-4 minutes, and then flip.  Cook 3-4 minutes on the other side.

Serve!

Honestly, I don’t miss the bun.  I just served them on a bed of spinach.  However, if you would like, you can stick them on a bun.

I love Chilean sea bass – too bad my store sells it for $20 a pound!

    • I actually didn’t used to like salmon, and sometimes I still think it is just “too fishy” depending on how it is served .. but I guess you can say that about anything!

    • Thanks Maria! And I purposely didn’t put any bread crumbs in it to hold them together … I didn’t think they needed them anyways! :)
