So, in case I haven’t mentioned it, my first year wedding anniversary is coming up in less than a month. We have some plans for a night or 2 away, and I am very excited!
Last February, for Valentines Day, I wanted to make this massage oil, but things got in the way, and it never happened. I figured our wedding anniversary would be a good time to make it.
Since the oil and the rose has to infuse for 6-8 weeks, it just takes a little while! However, it has been infusing the last couple months, and finally is ready to go! Plus doesn’t “rose infused massage oil” just sound so romantic?
Rose Infused Massage Oil
Recipe from Bath Alchemy
1 cup rose petals or rose buds
2 cups grapeseed oil
10 drops geranium oil
10 drops bay oil
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil
First, infuse the rose buds with the oil. Place in a glass jar and cover with a tight fitting lid. Let sit in a sunny spot for 6-8 weeks, shaking periodically.
After the rose has infused for a sufficient amount of time, strain out the rose from the oil. I placed some cheesecloth over a fine mesh strainer, and removed the rose from the oil. I had about 8 ounces of the rose infused oil.
To the oil, add the remaining oils. Stir well.
I have no idea how long this will last, I am hoping a while! All I know is that it smells really good!

You are so creative Jane. I clip many of your posts to Evernote for a time when I might actually have some time to tackle some homemade projects. With the middle name Rose I have always had a fondness for roses and anything rose scented. I’m sure it smells incredible.
I remember from earlier comments that we both have September anniversaries. Mine is the 29th and this year will be 11 years for my husband and I. I can honestly say that it’s just as exciting as the first anniversary. I can’t wait to hear how the massage oil turns out.

Oooh-la-la
I love rose-scented things, it’s such a mild smell but still so warm and calming.
Also, I just joined Twitter (I’m only years behind the crowd, right?), and added you!

oooo fun!
I’ve never thought to make my own massage oil, but I have made my own laundry detergent! Not sure that’s the same thing though.

It does smell really good … I think we are making plans this weekend on where to go. We both have the week after our anniversary off, and are planning on going to visit my parents in Illinois, and then when we get back do something fun for just the 2 of us (3 including Sammy!)
It sounds totally romantic, and doesn’t look hard to make!
