Team Bee gets married: Pre-Wedding Celebration Dinner

When we last left the recaps, Rob had went on a fishing charter with the rest of the boys.  While they were gone, I organized!  I had sent box after box up to Alaska, and they were mostly sitting in Bernie’s garage!  It felt like Christmas – opening box after box to see what was inside!  I did keep track of every item in every box before I sent them to Alaska, but it was all over the place.

These are some of the items that got put in the kitchen.  I had a lot of items I had ordered and sent directly to Alaska, so I had never seen them! This collar for Sammy was one of them:

Isn’t he so cute!

I felt much better when I had everything in piles and knew where everything was!

My mom also helped me with my wedding dress.  I had sent the dress to Alaska back in July, and I was so worried it would not fit!  If you recall, before the wedding, I was having some weight gain issues.  However, when I tried the dress on, it was perfect!  I had some elbow length gloves I was debating on wearing, but my mom convinced me to wear them!  She opened the seam on my ring finger so I could take my finger out of the glove in order for the wedding ring to be put on my finger.  Perfect!

The day before our wedding, we planned a pre-wedding celebration dinner – or PWCD as I liked to call it.  :)    We did not have a rehearsal because we could not meet with the pastor until the day of the wedding.  However, we still wanted to celebrate with our family that made the trip to Alaska to be with us!

My mom and Sandy were both a great help in making the goodies for the wedding.  We had cupcakes that my mom made, and Sandy helped making some butter mints.  We also had some cookies that they helped make.  I couldn’t have done it without them!

Cupcakes galore!  And we couldn’t eat them yet!

Bernie preparing for the PWCD!

We did a “potluck” for the PWCD, where everyone brought some food.  My contribution was the wedding cheese I made!

The PWCD was held outside.  Jen, Rob’s sister, rented some tents and they set up some fire pits.  Alaska in the fall can still be chilly!

Here is some of the food that was served.  It was all so good!  I would love to have some of these recipes!!

The first order of business was eating!

The photographer in action. :)   We took a group shot:

After dinner, we gave out the gifts.  We had gotten gifts for everyone as a way to say thank you.  Because we had such a small wedding, everyone helped pull it off.  I am so grateful to every single person!

I had a great time!  It was great to celebrate with everyone before the wedding.

As things wrapped up, Sandy and Lea helped arrange all the flowers!  Sandy as it turns out was a natural working with flowers! They looked so much better after she worked on them.

And then it was time to pack up and hit the sack!  I was exhausted, and might have had somewhat of a break down at the end of the night.  So many people asking me what do you want … I just couldn’t handle it!  After some much needed sleep, I was refreshed!

Stay tuned for the day of the wedding!

Miss a recap?

  2. and by “backyard weddings”….I meant wedding-related celebrations since this is pre-wedding! The small family gathering is my fave :)
